There are two reasons why there is a certain amount of reinventing the wheel with every group that requires management. First, if they are playing for the right reasons, they are totally different than anyone else. And second, what they are trying to achieve might be completely different from everyone else.
The only things an artist manager really needs in a group are originality and desire. I'm asked quite regularly to consult with up-and-coming artists (and some veterans) and that is certainly something I enjoy doing when time allows.
